Dear Mac friends:
Many thanks to Charlie Hutchens, John Hamill, Tucker Trainor, Nathan Brentzel and Dave Sevick for joining me at the Goodwill Computer Recycling Center today. Sadly, Rich Fitzgibbon had to attend to important personal business in Florida and could not be with us. Good luck with that tan, Fitz.
There were no funny stories from lunch, although I did spill cocktail sauce from my fish sandwich on my shirt. I thank my colleagues for not making fun of me.
Tucker had the honor of preparing three Mirror Drive Door Power Mac G4 Towers today, all capable of running OS X.5 Leopard. They'll be in the ComputerWorks store sometime next week. In all, we refurbished ten Macs to bring our all-time total to 2,374. Four other Macs were de-manufactured, and one re-imaged for the store.
John Hamill returned to resume his previous career as King of the RAM Tester. The ComputerWorks store people were impressed with his output. So much RAM, so little time...
Today was the best keyboard day we've had in a very long time. In addition to the swell donation of five NEW MacAlly keyboards and mice noted in my earlier note today, we took in three others.
If any of you out there have any interest or knowledge of Ubuntu Linux on a PC box, we'd like to hear from you.
Our next scheduled workday is Friday, March 26.
We hope to see you there!
